Open Mic

I have tics... not the little black bugs that live in the water, those are spelled T-I-C-K. The tic I'm talking about is spelled T-I-C. A tic is an involentary, sudden, rapid, recurrent, stereotyped, motor or vocal involvement. In other words a tic is a movement or sound that the body makes that can not be controled. I have tics because I have Tourette's Syndrome, a very misunderstood and misdiagnosed disorder. Most people think that Tourette's is just about swaering, but in reality it's not. Tics can be something as small as the blink of an eye to something as complex as throwing yor hands down while stomping your right foot and making the t sound. Trying to hold it in is liek trying to put a cap on a running hose. But eventually the hose will either have to break or will crack at the edges. Even though it cause a lot of physical effort, like trying not to blink, even though it makes it very difficult for me to pay attention, and even though I know that some people will be okay with my tourette's I hold it in. I hold it in because I find it embarrasing that I have to kiss dogs on their forheads, embarasing that I shake my whole body, and afraid because I know that there are still some people who are out there, who eill not understand and accept me. The will say to me "O well I've never noticed it before so it must not be a very bad case" or "Oh well why don't you just stop." to me that is like telling somebody who needs a wheelchair to move around " Hey just get up and walk". It just soesn't work that way. Now some of you, even right now, may be saying to yourselves, "Oh well I've never seen him act like this before, so he must not really have it." Well let me tell you, I do have it. I am only being more ticy right now because I feel uncomfortable. And that makes my tourettes worse. Let me just say one more thing, and I know that i am not just saying this for myself but for the thousands of people who stand behind me that also suffer from tourette's, and the millions out there that have any sort of mentall, physical, or emotional  Handicap, even thought I do not act or function like you do, that doesn't mean that i don't feel emotionally like you do!

Ordinary World

Georgie was living in an ordinary life. Georgie was a chicken, and lived everyday the same as the one before it. She woke up every morning at sunrise, and sat on after a man had collected her eggs she would peck first at the south-west corner and then move on to the south-east corner. Then she would listen to the stray cat Matilda, and gossip with her, until noon. The She would rest until dinner, and after dinner she layed her eggs, and then went to bed. Now she could have easily entered into a special world. Say, if Matilda got caught by a dog catcher or if a fox entered into the chicken coop. Or if the rooster, Bill died, but Geaorgie never thought that any of this would happen.
Then one day Everything changed... A mountain Lion came down from the mountains, and shredded the chicken coop. Georgie ran as fast as she could, and she did make it away alive, but was lost in the woods to the side of the coop. She never found her way back.

Stop and Pray

This is for the grandparents who have been forgotten, and the three year old children who just got a new baby sister and feel as if they are being neglected. This is for the boys whose fathers tell them to "be a man," and beats them and forces them to bend to their will. This is for the students who have struggles at home, and  never have time for schoolwork. Stop and pray. This is for the people who love something, but are to afraid to say it because they might get laughed at. This is for the sons whose mothers tell them that girls need more love and attention than boys do. This is for the young mothers that have cancer and are afraid of dying young, leaving behind a new family. Stop and pray, even when you feel as if the world is about to come crashing down all around you, stop and pray. This is for the man that every time he asks girls out, they always say no. This is for the girls who never get asked, and sit home crying the night of prom. This is for the kids that narrowly escaped death. Stop and pray, just stop and Pray. This is for the kids whose friends are trying to commit suicide, and for the boys that just can't go on. Stop and Pray. Stop, so that you can think about what is going on, and Pray to God that you may be helped with what you are going through. This is for the young ladies that get laughed at and get called foul names. This is for the boy whose father is an alcoholic. This is for the sister that just found out that her brother is addicted to porn. This is for the dad that never knows whether or not their little girl will be returned safely home that night. This is for the dogs that get beaten and kicked because they do not understand the human language. Stop and pray, even if you feel as if you are too low to be talking with God. Stop and pray. This is for the mother pig who gets taken away, from her newly born babies, to go and meet the light. This is for the teacher that got shot by a student that they failed. This is for  the innocent child that just can't stop it. This is for the child that gets told "do as I say and not as I do" 24/7. This is for the girl whose sister has autism. Stop and Pray. This... this is for you, and for me, and for every living creature who has ever had to struggle with something. Stop and pray.

I Keep Forgetting

I keep forgetting to remember. I keep forgetting to forgive and forget. I keep forgetting to visit that one teacher. I keep forgetting to finish anything. I keep forgetting to not judge. I keep forgetting when will we control our own lives. I keep forgetting that today is not the last day that I will see the light. I keep forgetting to sing and don't care whether or not my voice sucks. I keep forgetting to tell my mother "thank you for giving me everything." I keep forgetting that they do love me, even though they always make me feel so stupid. I keep forgetting to feed my dog. I keep forgetting to laugh and cry. I just keep forgetting. I keep forgetting to stay alive, and plow through my trials. I keep forgetting to smile. I keep forgetting that everybody dies, and not everybody lives. I keep forgetting that everybody is nice. I keep forgetting that everybody is mean. I keep forgetting that he loves me, no matter what I do, and that I just have to pray to him if I want his comfort. I keep forgetting to pray for help. I keep forgetting to forget.
